20 Slimming World Chinese Takeaway Dishes – A Useful Syn List to Keep You On Track

15 December 2021

What Chinese takeaway can I have on slimming world?

Losing weight can take the fun out of eating, let’s face it, we all love a good Chinese takeaway. I thought I would put this post together to show Slimming World Chinese Takeaway Syns.

Why does losing weight have to come with so much sacrifice? That’s the question I’ve found myself asking too many times.

Slimming world is one of the few plans which I know many people have been able to stick to due to less restrictions as you get your free food options.

If you find yourself with no food in the fridge and an overwhelming urge to pick up the phone and order a Chinese Takeaway, fear not! In this post, we’ll cover tips on what to choose from your local Chinese in order to help you stick to your daily Syn goal – I’ve also put a helpful image together for you to keep as a reference 🙂

Losing weight is challenging for most as let’s face it who doesn’t love food! But the fact is, to keep in a fit and healthy shape we need to maintain a healthy weight and BMI, otherwise we end up with all sorts of health issues down the line, plus it is nice to feel good in clothes.

Slimming World Chinese Fakeaway

Sometimes, the temptation can be strong, especially when you’re just starting a new weight loss plan and juggling a busy life. Before you rush to order that Chinese takeaway, pause for a moment and consider: “Are there any healthier alternatives?” If you’re still set on a takeaway, then scroll down for a Slimming World Chinese Takeaway Syns List.

As a member of the Slimming World community, I’ve been inspired by the incredible Fakeaways I’ve seen. A Fakeaway is essentially a healthier, homemade version of your favourite takeaway, using healthy oils and alternatives. These often fit well within your Syn value, leaving room for other treats. There are plenty of tantalising recipes online. For instance, Siobhan at Slimming Eats offers some delicious Chinese Fakeaway recipes. The difference is striking – a fakeaway Chicken Chop Suey is just 1 Syn per portion, compared to 9.5 Syns from a local takeaway!

In addition to these online resources, I highly recommend the “Fakeaway: Healthy Home-cooked Takeaway Meals” book, available on Amazon. This book is a treasure trove of recipes that allow you to enjoy your favourite takeaway dishes without compromising your diet. It’s perfect for those who love a good Chinese but want to keep it healthy and Slimming World-friendly. You can check it out here: Fakeaway: Healthy Home-cooked Takeaway Meals.

Staying on track with weight loss plans can be challenging, and the best way to monitor your eating is by recording it. Whether you use an app or a physical food diary, keeping a record helps you identify areas for improvement. If you’re not losing weight as expected, you can seek help from your sponsor or figure out adjustments on your own. Fridge food planners are also a great tool for meal planning.

Remember, with the right resources and a bit of creativity, you can enjoy delicious meals that align with your health goals. Happy cooking and healthy eating!

Mix & Match Meals

I know when we order takeaways, especially Chinese or Thai, we like to get a number of dishes and share between us all – I mean who doesn’t want to try everything. If there’s a particular option you want to go for which is high in Syn value, why not go for it but only have say a third of a portion and mix and match with other lower syn options.

It’s your personal weight loss journey!

Everyone losing weight has their own journey and ways in which works well for them. The bottom line is, weight loss only works when you make better choices. That doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy food or meals with friends and family.

Be kind to yourself

It’s about eating in moderation, we all have days, weekends or even weeks where we go off track and that can have a real impact on our mental health. If you are going through one of those times, don’t beat yourself up – just remember tomorrow is new day and you can get back on track. Weight loss is not something you do overnight, it’s more about lifestyle and habit changes. One thing I have learnt over the years is, the more you practice new habits, the easier they become! Keep going – you’ve got this 😀
